This is a place where you can find some useful Tips and Tricks for Hypixel SkyBlock. Feel free to add more!
Farming
- In the early game, it is recommended to use a
Rookie Hoe from the Farm Merchant to harvest crops on public islands, or just using your fist. Once you unlock ⏣ The Garden, you can start to use the
Advanced Gardening Hoe, which automatically has Replenish on it. Once you reach a decent Garden level and have a supply of copper, specialized hoes and axes such as the
Euclid's Wheat Hoe can be used and are optimal, with upgrades and an XP system. It is recommended that the user puts the Harvesting enchantment on their hoe and Blessed reforge, as well as the Turbo enchantment for the crop they are farming, as they increase the user's ☘ Farming Fortune, increasing the overall crop output. - All crops are balanced to have similar money and
Farming XP rates, so the choice of crop doesn't matter too much. However,
Enchanted Sugar Cane can be used to brew Speed VI potions, which could be used for
Alchemy XP. - The
Pumpkin Minion and
Melon Minion are recommended for
Farming XP and coins, all other farming minions produce too little
Farming XP and are not very profitable.
Mining
- Remember to deposit your bank before entering the ⏣ Deep Caverns, as early-game players often die to the mobs there even if they are careful.
- You can acquire a free
Compactor by talking to the
Lapis Miner and giving them a
Lapis Pickaxe, which could be crafted from the
Lazy Miner's
Iron Pickaxe and 512
Lapis Lazuli. It is recommended to do so after acquiring a better pickaxe, such as a
Fractured Mithril Pickaxe. - Prioritize completing Commissions and acquiring high amounts of Powder, as the Heart of the Mountain is far more important to mining progression than
Mining levels. - See Tutorial:Mining Guide for a more in-depth mining guide.
- If the player wishes to level up
Mining without actually mining, they can use mining Minions, such as
Snow Minions
Red Sand Minion.
Combat
- Do not get Knockback on your primary weapon. Just don't
- The
Void Sword is the best early-game weapon, and acquiring it should be a priority for most players. The
Undead Sword can be used to reach
Combat XII, and the
End Sword should be used to kill the initial 5
Enderman. Saving up 200,000 coins may seem challenging initially, but it is not that difficult when considering how much is given for free just for reaching certain skill levels.
Ender Armor should be used for early-game combat, even outside of ⏣ The End.- Players should always reforge their weapons and armor, in order to maximize damage output. Recommended reforges for your weapons and armor can be found here.
- Accessories are very important, much more so than your gear. Though the individual effects of each accessory may not be strong, their Magical Power gives a substantial stat boost that should not be ignored, especially with a good accessory power such as
Silky or
Scorching. - The
Rift Necklace is a very powerful necklace, although The Rift could prove challenging for new players, acquiring enough timecharms could bolster your combat capabilities by a great amount. - Though items from the
Catacombs are extremely valuable for combat, they are not the only option. Weapons such as the
Aspect of the Dragons or a Gilded
Midas Sword are effective options for general combat, while more specialized weapons such as the
Atomsplit Katana are often very strong for their niche. - Players should never throw away any weapon, tool, or armor piece. Instead, the ⏣ Museum is a good place to place old items for Skyblock XP, or simply selling them on the Auction House could net some coins.
Ghosts are a very effective way of acquiring
Combat XP lategame, but have high gear requirements due to their HP of 1 million. Most Slayer bosses can also allow for high
Combat XP rates, especially when using specialized pets that increases ☯ Combat Wisdom for specific mob types.
Foraging
- There's an in-game tutorial for foraging, follow that tutorial if you struggle with it.
- The
Spruce Axe and
Treecapitator should be used until you reach ⏣ Galatea, after which the
Fig Hew and
Figstone Splitter are stronger. - Refer to Tutorial:Foraging Guide for more details.
Fishing
- Squid fishing should be done in the ⏣ Birch Park, where
Vanessa can summon rain, which allows
Squids to naturally spawn and
Night Squids to be fished up, both of which drops
Ink Sacs. Due to their rarity outside of this method, they often sell for a lot, and
Night Squid Shards also often goes for high prices on the Bazaar. This results in an extremely profitable fishing money making method, though not very good for
Fishing XP. A
Squid Hat vastly increases your chances of fishing up squids. - The
Flying Fish Pet, though expensive, grants high ☂ Fishing Speed. The
Ammonite Pet grants high α Sea Creature Chance, and most other pets are somewhere in between. The
Reindeer Pet is optimal for fishing in ⏣ Jerry's Workshop, while
Dolphin is a good all-rounder pet for fishing. - The
Squid Pet gives ☯ Fishing Wisdom, which helps level up
Fishing faster. - While the
Fish Bait gives the highest ☂ Fishing Speed,
Whale Bait is the best bait for fishing, although extremely expensive. Other baits, such as
Worm Bait or
Frozen Bait, typically have their own niches. - Don't forget to wear armor with Sea Creature Chance, like
Thunder Armor or
Magma Lord Armor.
Clay Minions and
Fishing Minions both produces good rates for
Fishing XP for players who do not wish to actively fish or to bypass early-game fishing.- The 2x2 pool of lava next to
Sawyer in ⏣ Galatea can be used to fish up large numbers of
Stridersurfers, each of which gives high amounts of
Fishing XP. Due to them being the only mob that can spawn in ⏣ Galatea lava, this is extremely consistent unlike other fishing methods.
Enchanting
Enchanting has been made fairly easy by the addition of the Experimentation Table, but it still takes some few weeks to get
Enchanting LX.
- It is recommended to use unofficial mods that can help you with solving the Experiments.
- If the player wishes to lose as little money as possible, they can do Experiments only once a day.
- The ideal pet to use to level up
Enchanting is the
Guardian Pet, as it boosts your ☯ Enchanting Wisdom. - If the player wishes to level up the skill as quickly as possible, they can use all three Experiment renews and manually enchant until they hit the cap, but this is not recommended for mid-game players as it ends up taxing quite a few Bits.
- Players may wish to keep doing Experiments even after they have hit
Enchanting LX, because there is always a low chance of obtaining rare but valuable books such as Protection VII.
Dungeons
- Healer is not a recommended class early-game due to the difficulty of its milestones, though it is suggested for mid-game players whose gear may not be optimal to avoid class overlap.
- Refer to the Dungeon Ultimate Guide, or the Tutorials for each class: Mage Guide, Berserk Guide, Tutorials/Archer Guide, Tutorials/Healer Guide and Tutorials/Tank Guide.
Reforging
The following reforges are based on optimising damage for melee setups.
- Fabled and Withered are the best sword reforges. Sharp should be used earlygame before you can consistently afford them, or Spicy if you can hit 100% ☣ Crit Chance without Sharp.
- The best for bows is Spiritual if one is willing to spend a good amount of coins. Otherwise, it is recommended to use Precise or Unreal. Hasty is optimal for the
Terminator due to its ☣ Crit Chance penalty. - Armor pieces should be reforged to Fierce early game, and Ancient late game. Renowned is a more expensive alternative that gives slightly less ❁ Damage but more ❤ Effective Health and ✯ Magic Find.
- Refer to the Tutorial:Reforging Guide for more detailed descriptions.
Money Making Methods
- By simply breaking wheat at the ⏣ Farm, you can easily obtain a few thousand coins for beginner items, such as the
Adventurer talismans. - An easy way to get coins is to mine sand at the ⏣ Mushroom Desert, then selling it to an NPC such as the
Farm Merchant. An Efficiency II
Golden Shovel can instantly break sand, and this is a reliable method of acquiring enough money for the
Void Sword. - Use Minions (preferably with a
Diamond Spreading for even more money) for passive money generation over time. The
Redstone Minion with a
Super Compactor 3000 is suggested to also acquire extra Accessory Bag slots via Redstone Collection. - Once you acquire 13,000 damage against
Zealots, grinding them could often produce numerous
Summoning Eyes per hour, each of which sells for over 1,000,000 coins on the Bazaar. However, note that this method is extremely competitive.
Hideonleaf Shards often sell for high prices, and grinding them in large amounts is easy and have extremely low gear requirements. However, note that this method does not grant anything else of significance outside of coins, with the
Hunting XP given being extremely low and also producing low Starlyn Contest points, so it is not recommended. Also, it may be difficult to spot Hideonleafs without using mods to highlight their locations.- The player can use a method called NPC flipping. The player buys items (available in the Bazaar) from the NPC merchants and sell it at the Bazaar for profit (Note, players can only purchase 640 of the chosen item from the NPC merchants each day, or 6400 when
Diaz is in office with Shopping Spree active). Typically, items such as
Ice or
Cobblestone have high margins, although due to the fluctuating market this may change. - Buying
Viper Shards from
Kiara and using them for Attribute Fusion or just selling them on the Bazaar often produces decent profit every day. You can add
Kiara as an Abiphone contact to do this more effectively every day.
Farming on ⏣ The Garden is a very consistent way of making money, due to NPC sell prices being consistent. Grinding Pests can give an extremely high amount of coins per hour.
Mining has many money making methods, notably Mineshaft mining gives an extremely high coins per hour. However, early game players can mine
Ruby or
Mithril for a decent number of coins per hour.
Other Tips
- /visit prtl allows you to access a community-made 'Portal Hub', which includes a portal to almost every single location you can warp to. It is extremely helpful even for late-game players. Also on the island is every Century Cake, along with a
Placeable Fairy Soul. - You should always make sure you have enough money in their bank to be able to get the maximum interest.
- If you doesn't have enough minion slots, you should alternate their minions, depending on your objective.
- You should consider storing essential items in their Ender Chest. It can be accessed at any time via the SkyBlock Menu, and helps declutter a messy inventory.
- When you breaks portals on your private island, the portal item is lost. You will need to craft another one.
- The
Personal Bank upgrades from
Guy are very useful for any player, do not neglect this upgrade. - There's an odd house in the ⏣ Wilderness where people often gather every hour, consider checking it out once you have a lot of coins...
