This is a general guide for the
Foraging skill. It focuses on your progression from The Park and Galatea, as well as provide strategies for
Hunting.
The Basics
There are three stats that are integral to your Foraging progression: ∮ Sweep, ☘ Foraging Fortune, and ☯ Foraging Wisdom.
- ∮ Sweep represents how many blocks are broken with each chop. For example, 7 ∮ Sweep would break 7 logs at a time. However, some trees have higher toughnesses, meaning you need higher ∮ Sweep to overcome it. For older or returning players, this is what the
Jungle Axe (now the Spruce Axe) and
Treecapitator's abilities used to be. The scaling is not linear, however, as it is instead a LOGarithmic scaling with more ∮ Sweep required the more logs you would break. It also affects how fast you can break the log. - ☘ Foraging Fortune represents the chance to get multiple logs per drop. When paired with high ∮ Sweep, this can lead to a high quantity of logs being obtained at a time.
- ☯ Foraging Wisdom represents how much
Foraging XP you gain from foraging. If you want to reach high
Foraging levels, it is best to get a lot of ☯ Foraging Wisdom, although you won't get much in the early-game.
Other stats important once you enter the ⏣ Moonglade Marsh are ⚶ Respiration, ❍ Pressure Resistance, and especially ☘ Hunter Fortune, once you dabble more into Hunting. ✦ Speed and ❁ Strength are also relevant for certain Heart of the Forest perks.
The Park
Before you gain access to ⏣ Galatea, you will primarily be foraging in ⏣ The Park, split up into five sections, each for a different type of wood.
- The ⏣ Birch Park contains Birch, whose collection most notably has the
Foraging Sack. It also has a pond for fishing, and you can give coins to
Vanessa to make it rain and spawn
Squids as well as having the chance to fish up
Night Squids. - The ⏣ Spruce Woods contain Spruce, whose collection most notably has the
Spruce Axe and
Wolf Pet. You can start the Woods Race here, and talk to the
Joyful Viking and complete his quest for some items who could be useful. - The ⏣ Dark Thicket contains Dark Oak, whose collection most notably has the
Armor of Growth that upgrades into
Mastiff Armor. The Trials of Fire can be found here, as well as the ⏣ Howling Cave, a zone for Wolf Slayer. - The ⏣ Savanna Woodland contains Acacia Wood, whose collection most notably has the
Repelling Candle and
Acacia Birdhouse.
Master Tactician Funk sells the
Wood Singularity, which grants +25 ☘ Foraging Fortune when applied to an Axe: the ⏣ Soul Cave, a zone for Wolf Slayer and considered by many to be the best zone of the three, can also be found here. - The ⏣ Jungle Island contains Jungle Wood, whose collection most notably has the
Treecapitator, the upgrade from the
Spruce Axe, as well as the
Ocelot Pet. The Romero and Juliette quest can be found and started here, as well as the ⏣ Spirit Cave, a zone for Wolf Slayer.
For the sake of conciseness, we will not provide strategies about Wolf Slayer: however, it is worth getting into, since compared to Zombie Slayer and Spider Slayer, it's trivially easy with high enough ❤ Health, ❂ True Defense, and a good enough weapon, and it leads to a lot of useful items like the
Overflux Power Orb and
Mastiff Armor.

Galatea
As is the case with how ⏣ The Park is the ⏣ Deep Caverns of Foraging, ⏣ Galatea is the ⏣ Dwarven Mines.
Moonglade Marsh
Upon entering the ⏣ Moonglade Marsh for the first time, you'll be introduced to Starlyn Contests, Tree Gifts, and
Hunting.
- Starlyn Contests are contents held by the Starlyn Sisters where you accumulate points by doing activities related to Foraging, similar to Jacob's Farming Contests.
- Tree Gifts are rewards given to the player for contributing to chopping down trees in Galatea.
Hunting is a skill where players hunt creatures for Attribute Shards and fuse Shards together using a multitude of different methods. This tutorial will not cover Hunting in detail.
Agatha's Contests
Agatha hosts Starlyn Contests every single day, rewarding points for different activities performed on the ⏣ Moonglade Marsh. It lasts for 1 day in SkyBlock Time, which translates to 20 minutes in real life, and is active every day.
Doing pretty much anything on the Moonglade Marsh will give points: Tree Gifts grant 10 points each, and you gain 3 points per 100
Fig Logs chopped. On the surface, chopping Fig Trees looks like a terrible idea: it grants the second least amount of points out of everything. However, with high enough ∮ Sweep, an entire Fig Tree could be chopped down in seconds.
Other strategies are as follows:
Mangrove Logs are worth going for with high enough ∮ Sweep, although
Fig Logs are way more efficient.
Mudworm Shards can occasionally be found as particles in the ground, which you should never ignore as they are typically worth a lot. If they don't give a
Mudworm Shard, they will give several hundred
Fig Logs and
Mangrove Logs.
Hideonleaf Shards are a high-demand shard that always has high prices, as well as being required for all the shards in the Shulker family as well as
Cuboa Shards. They are not very good for Hunting XP or points, but extremely profitable for its low barrier of entry.
Lushlilac bushes gives 9 points each harvested, which can easily allow for anyone with an
Aspect of the End to reach LEGENDARY in the contest. Additionally, the
Bullfrog Shard's Berry Enjoyer attribute has a chance to double points acquired from this method.
Fishing, especially when combined with catching most sea creatures via a
Medium Pocket Black Hole, can provide high amounts of points, but is not a consistently viable strategy to use for LEGENDARY results.- Killing
Chillblades and
Chillshots can give a high amount of points, which is useful for Bestiary grinding or obtaining
Mob the Fish. They also drop the
Runeblade Talisman, 72 of which are needed for the
Runeblade Artifact.
