Axes are a category of tools. They are used in Jungle Sapling Foraging to obtain logs, Lead Hunting alongside Black Holes, and in Golden Hoe Farming to obtain certain crops.

There used to be Swords which take the shape of axes (Raider Axe Raider Axe, Ragnarock Axe Ragnarock Axe, Daedalus Axe Daedalus Axe, Axe of the Shredded Axe of the Shredded, Mercenary Axe Mercenary Axe, and Enrager Enrager), however they always had the type of "Sword" and couldn't have any Axe enchantments. All of those items were turned into Swords in the 0.23 Update.

All vanilla Minecraft tools exist in SkyBlock, although SkyBlock alternatives are almost always better. Since tools don't degrade on use in SkyBlock, a common myth is that diamond axes are the fastest vanilla axe, but Golden Tools are actually the best due to their speed. The wooden version is used in various Minion recipes.
