The Composter is a feature in ⏣ The Garden that allows the player to create Compost. The Composter takes 10 minutes to create each Compost, consuming 4000 Organic Matter and 2000 Machine Fuel per Compost continuously in the process. However, these values can be improved by upgrading the Composter.

Mechanics

Organic Matter

When inserted into the Composter, certain items can be converted into Organic Matter. Items cannot be taken out of the Composter once they have been inserted. 4000 Organic Matter is needed to make each Compost, excluding upgrades. The best item to buy from the Bazaar for making Organic Matter is currently Enchanted Poisonous Potato Enchanted Poisonous Potato at 0 coins per 4000 Organic Matter. On ♲ Ironman profiles, Enchanted Seeds Enchanted Seeds and Box of Seeds Box of Seeds are good because visitors don't ask for Seeds.

The following table gives the Organic Matter value for all known compostable items. All Organic Matter values below are exact. For example, Potato Potatoes are worth exactly 0.33 organic matter, not 1/3. However, the amount per 4000 organic matter is rounded.

Note that a Condensed Fermento Condensed Fermento can only be used with sufficient Composter upgrades because they are worth more than the base limit of 40,000 Organic Matter.

Upgrades

There are 5 Composter Upgrades available for the Composter.

A Composter with all Composter Upgrades maxed out would produce an average of Compost 63x Compost per hour. For each hour, it would consume 108,000 Organic Matter and 54,000 Machine Fuel. It could run unattended for exactly 5 hours before running out of Organic Matter, making an average of Compost 315x Compost in that time. Even with the Organic Matter Cap upgrade maxed out, the first 6 upgrades of the Fuel Cap are enough for the Organic Matter to be depleted fully.
